This small mixed planter will thrive inside with bright, direct light or put it outside once all danger of frost has passed. It needs to be watered 2 time per week and potted up in 2 - 4 months. With this planter, you actually get a total of 4 different plants: Purple Euphorbia, Variegated Kalancho, Gasteria and Elephant Food.
The soil is topped with granite gravel and it comes with a piece of Rocky Mountain quartzite from the San Luis Valley, a decorative grapevine heart and nigella seedhead pods. The container is 5 inches in diameter and stands 10 inches tall with the plants.
This mixed planter comes in a copper shallow metallic container. There is no drainage hole, so we put a nice layer of gravel at the bottom to help with drainage. All of our containers and vases are up-cycled from second-hand sources. We believe in the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, or finding beauty in the imperfections. This allows us to rescue slightly used but still in really good condition containers and give them new purpose.
We start all of our plants from cuttings that we take from our large houseplant collection. We root them with homemade willow rooting hormone, plant them with cinnamon in our high-quality potting soil mix, and care for them tenderly while they grow under natural sunlight.
